The UD Digital Media Center

I came down here for the first time today and noticed that they have a little sound studio that any student is allowed to schedule and use. I checked the schedule book and it's completely blank. I plan on bringing some tapes and stuff I've made down here and working with it all in there.

Anyway, I thought it would be a good resource to inform you all of.

good article on sound insatllations

http://www.creativesynth.com/OPINIONS/004_Installations/op_Installations.html

Ashley,
I got Max/msp. Don't ask, I know a guy. But if you want it...then ok.
The idea for the first project is simple. I've been saving messages that people leave me on the phone for a while thinking they are just generally strange. Stranger still en masse. I'm putting them on my computer and will play them back simultaneously i noticed that only a handful of people call me and they usually start them with the same kind of greeting. hopefully it will have enough similarities to sound like something interesting. I also got the idea after talking to the amazing Joe Netta to convert each file to music using midi. dunno. we'll see what happens.
I'm not sure of Nate and Max's email, so if anyone happens to have it, could you post it? This way I can invite them as authors to the blog.

Anyway, what is everyone working on?
